Local Intelligence Support Team (LIST)

Sourcing, linking and interpreting data is key to understanding and projecting patterns of service demand. Providing such insight delivers better plans, designing improved service user pathways and health and social care excellence.

If you are interested in a general discussion on how LIST can serve your needs please contact us.

Working with Health and Social Care Partnerships

ISD's LIST places information specialists on-site within Health and Social Care Partnerships. Through LIST our partners gain access to a wide range of services to help inform an evidence base for decision making. These include outcomes monitoring, benchmarking, data validation, dataset design, statistical analysis, interpretation, data visualisation and data management.

The types of work that LIST have been involved in can be accessed via our Product Catalogue

  • Local training and skills transfer
  • Specialist skills (public health, governance)

Working with Community Planning Partnerships and Local Authorities

We have examples of work that we have progressed in collaboration with a number of Community Planning Partnerships and Local Authorities, for example,

  • Analysis of local authority homeless housing records, community and health datasets to inform change.
  • Linking mental health data from the third sector to social care and health data to show effective interventions.
  • Customer insight analysis to understand how citizens use local services.
  • Assessing data quality, data cleansing and data management services
  • Tailored local needs assessments.

Working with Third Sector Partners

LIST has been working with a number of Third Sector organisations in varying capacity, for example:-

  • ALLIANCE - Dementia Carers Pledge Project
  • Edinburgh Voluntary Organisations' Council - Safe Steps
  • Glasgow Council for the Voluntary Sector - Community Connectors
  • Leuchie House Respite Centre, North Berwick
  • McMillan Cancer Care Pathways, Dundee
  • PKAVS - Pathways Project (Perth & Kinross Association of Voluntary Services)

We are keen to forge links with other Third Sector organisations and explore how we can link services to enhance the lives of the people that these organisations work hard to support.

Working with GP Clusters

The LIST service is expanding more formally into Primary Care to support Cluster Quality working, in particular intelligence led influence and decision making. The expanding service will build upon the existing team skills and technical infrastructure. The future aspiration is an intelligence led service which is joined up across health and social care including GP Practices and GP clusters.
